Even before you choose your puppy formula, continue feeding him the same type and brand of food the breeder was giving him. It's also an excellent idea to maintain the same feeding schedule as much as possible. Once he feels more comfortable with you, then you can slowly (and I mean slowly!) begin the transition.

Keep an eye on your puppy during this transition. It's not unusual for puppies -- even after this careful routine -- to have a reaction. Some owners find that their pups vomit once they're on only the new formula. Another effect of an entirely new food would be loose stools or the appearance of constipation.
