Dog foods tend to vary in quality. It all depends on how it relates to your individual dog. For example, the kind of dog food that you feed a golden retriever may well vary from the type of dog food that you feed a poodle obviously due to the size and physical composition of the dog. Most foods however are categorized as: Economy, regular, premium, super premium and performance. The best choice here is definitely either super premium or performance and I'll explain why.Economy and regular dog food does not contain the same performance element and is merely a simple dog food. Dogs cannot digest things as easily as most animals and therefore it is important that you choose the right dog food. For example if you are checking the label of a super premium or performance dog food, make sure that animal protein is right at the top of your ingredient list. Why? Because it is an essential part of the dog's diet and it is easily digestible which is the thing to look out for. A good dog food must also contain things like vegetable oils, soybean oils and sesame seed oils and these ingredients help maintain the shine of a dog's hair coat and skin. Carbohydrates are the 3rd most important part of the diet and it is important to look out for things such as rice, corn and/or wheat as these key ingredients make it easily digestible for your dog. Dog food must also contain vitamins and super premium dog food will contain these key ingredients where as regular and economy dog foods certainly won't.
Summing it up, if you want a healthy dog with a shiny coat, superior teeth and overall health, I would definitely suggest the super premium or performance dog foods over the others.
